Again this is Ivan Nikolov.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a decent
one myself. A lot of work on my web site, though.

For this newsletter I wanted to create the next
video from the "Successful And Permanent Fat Loss"
series. I couldn't, though.

Especially today was one of these days where
I wished there were 34 hours in the day instead
of 24..

Anyhow, below you will find the answers
to two questions you have asked yourself, I am
sure, at one point or another.

Can You Build Muscle and Lose Fat At The Same
Time?

Well, what do you think?

Is it possible to gain muscle and lose fat
simultaneously?

I bet you want me to say "Yes". Honestly, about
ten years ago I thought that it's possible...

Now I know a little bit more and unfortunately
for both of us the answer to this question is..

"No"

Gaining muscle and losing fat simultaneously
is not possible.

The reasons are two. And very, very simple
reasons at that:

* If you want to build muscle you have to eat
more calories than you actually burn.

* If you want to lose fat you have to eat less
calories than the calories you burn

See, it's simple, isn't it? Gaining muscle and
shedding fat require two completely opposite
nutrition states - calorie surplus and calorie
deficit.

That is what makes it impossible to build
muscle and lose fat at the same time.

There are two occasions when for a short term
some can gain and lose at the same time.

How Important It Is To Understand Nutrition

Yet that's another issue you have to be very
clear about.

If you don't appreciate the importance of
nutrition, your gains will be very limited
and temporary.

In short, if you want to lose fat you have to
make sure you eat less than what you need for
your daily physical activities and resting
metabolic rate.

How do you know what these two are if you don't
understand nutrition?

Onward.

If you want to gain muscle you have to know
that your body has enough nutrients at the right
times to recover and re-build after intense
workouts.

Ultimately when you re-build the damaged muscles
is when you will eventually grow.

But how do you know how much of what your body
needs, and when exactly it needs it if you don't
know nutrition?

If you simply decide to eat more, just so that
your body is not lacking anything of what it
might need, you risk to get fat. Real fat!

In summary, if you don't understand how
important nutrition is for your success -
fat loss or muscle gain, you are risking not
to achieve your goal.

At least not until you learn how to apply the
principles of proper nutrition and meal planning.
