** WHAT'S IN A FAT LOSS FORMULA: 7-KETO

7-KETO DHEA is the commercial name for a naturally produced by the body chemical compound. 7-KETO (for short) is a derivative of DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) - a prohormone, which in the body converts to testosterone and estrogen.
7-KETO has similar properties like DHEA, but it doesn't convert to testosterone and estrogen. This makes it safe for women with high risk of breast cancer, and men with risk of prostate cancer.
7-KETO exhibits numerous health benefits, but the one that's most interesting to us athletes is the fact that it has strong fat burning properties.
The way 7-KETO works to increase the fat burned in the body is:
1) by increasing the release of the metabolism enhancing hormone T3, and
2) by increasing the production of three very important thermogenic enzymes in the liver
The end result is increased resting metabolic rate (RMR) - the amount of calories you burn throughout the day - exercising and resting.
In a double-blind trial participants exercised three times a week and ate a low-calorie diet. The 7-KETO group were given 100 mg a day. That same group lost three times more total body weight and three times more body fat than the control group.
There are more studies demonstrating the fat reducing effects of 7-KETO, as well as other highly beneficial and interesting effects.
Listed below are a few. 7-KETO...
- boosts immune function
- improves memory
- lowers cholesterol by increasing HDL - the "good cholesterol"
- counteracts the effect of circulating glucocorticoids, such as cortisol
- does not have a central nervous system stimulating effect like caffeine
- does not convert to estrogen and testosterone
- does not accumulate in the body over time
- is free of unhealthy side effects
- does not increase heart rate or blood pressure
7-KETO should be taken in the morning. If taken in the evening it may interfere with good sleep.
Doses that promote fat loss are 100 to 200 mg a day.
